Off-Leash K9 Training is a national off leash dog training business based in Northern Virginia. OLK9 has locations throughout the United States. Off-Leash K9 Training specializes in private lessons, dog behavior consultations, and teaching the owners to understand why their dogs do the things they do. The training we offer creates a strong bond between the owner and dog and without the restriction of a leash.

Justin Bailey is proud to bring Off Leash K9 Training to the Houston, Texas area!

Justin spent most of his childhood summers on his aunt and uncle’s chicken farm in East Texas, where they raised 150,000 to 300,000 chickens a year. Justin started learning to train dogs in order to help with the daily removal of injured chickens from the six 100 yard long chicken coops. This began Justin’s life long passion of animals at a very early age. During high school Justin’s father purchased a 465 acre ranch for them begin raising beef cattle, once again, Justin began training dogs to cut, sort, and herd the cattle.

After graduating high school Justin joined the United States Marine Corps. During his first year in the Marines, Justin served as a door gunner for a weapons company providing security for the transportation of 6,600 Kurdish evacuees from Northern Iraq to Guam for political asylum during Joint Task Force Operation Pacific Haven. Justin was moved back to Joint Task Force missions where he remained until 2003, in which he was retired from the Marine Corps due to injuries received in the line of duty.

After serving in the US Marine Corps, Justin when back to his life-long passion and he enrolled in the Veterinary Technicians Institute (VTI) and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Science in Veterinary Technology & Medicine. During his years at VTI, Justin volunteered at the Houston SPCA working with pit bulls that had been used in fighting and he worked to rehabilitate them so they could be adopted out to permanent homes.

In 2014, Justin spent countless hours working one-on-one with Nick White, owner of the globally recognized dog training business, Off Leash K9 Training. Justin is now excited to bring this unique style of dog training to the Houston, Texas area! Living up to the Off Leash K9 Training standard of guaranteed off leash obedience: any size, age, or breed.

OLK9 uses marker training, but we specialize in e-collar training to gain amazing obedience from your dog. There are a bunch of major misconceptions with e-collar training (see FAQ). E-collar training is more about using a ball as a reward, than it is about using the e-collar.
